QA Engineer

Are you passionate about software quality and test automation — and want to help teams deliver better features, faster?

Unik is looking for a QA Engineer to help build, operate, and improve the testing foundations that support our modern Azure cloud‑based PropTech solutions.

You’ll work closely with a dedicated product team while also contributing to a shared QA practice that supports quality across the organization. The position can be based in either Vejle or Aalborg.

About the role

As a QA Engineer, you’ll be assigned to a product area, working day‑to‑day with developers, architects, and product owners to ensure the quality and reliability of the solution you support — and take ownership of the outcomes within your product area.

At the same time, you’ll be an active member of Unik’s QA team, where you collaborate on standards, tooling, automation patterns, and shared testing practices used across 11 product teams.

You will help evolve our testing strategy across all stages of the development and delivery pipeline. You’ll design and execute tests, build automation, and contribute to shared quality standards that improve delivery across Unik. The role is automation‑focused, with only occasional targeted manual or exploratory testing for edge cases or complex scenarios that aren’t practical to automate.

You’ll be part of the QA group in the Development department, collaborating across multiple locations in Denmark and Poland.

Requirements

Must have experience

  • 3+ years of experience in QA and test automation: Solid track record of improving product quality through structured testing and automation.
  • ISTQB certification: Demonstrating a strong foundation in testing principles and QA practices.
  • Experience creating test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies: Supporting reliable, repeatable, and scalable test coverage across functional areas.
  • Handson experience with Cypress (Cloud) and TypeScript or similar: Including writing, maintaining, and debugging automated tests to ensure fast and stable feedback loops.
  • Experience testing in an agile environment: Practical experience collaborating closely with developers and product owners to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Strong communication skills in English: Enabling effective collaboration across teams and locations.
  • Familiarity using AI‑assisted tools in QA workflows: Enhancing test quality and productivity by generating test scenarios, supporting automated test development, identifying risks, and validating complex edge cases.

Nice to have

  • Experience with API testing and related tooling
  • Manual testing skills for targeted exploratory or scenario-based validation
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, pipelines, or cloud-based test execution
  • Experience testing large platforms or microservice‑based systems.
  • Awareness of performance testing or interpreting logs/metrics/traces

How we work

We value autonomy with alignment: product teams own their services, while our QA team provides shared standards, QA practices, automation tooling, and quality guardrails. You’ll work in a modern engineering environment with meaningful impact on how we build, test, and deliver software across the organization.

We collaborate openly across teams and disciplines, supported by strong knowledge sharing, active guilds, and crossteam initiatives. Our culture is pragmatic and delivery focused, with decisions grounded in data, risk, operational insight, and a shared sense of impact.

We invest in continuous learning, with time set aside to explore new tools, refine skills, and stay current with modern testing and QA practices. Curiosity and improvement are part of how we operate; if you see something that can be better, you’re encouraged to help move it forward.

We believe in work–life balance: clear expectations, direct and respectful communication, and an environment where asking questions and discussing ideas is always welcome. This is supported by flexible, part-time remote work as an integrated part of how we work and collaborate.

What we offer

  • Influence on QA strategy, tooling, and automation practices for a complex PropTech suite
  • A collaborative engineering culture with room to shape QA approaches
  • Time and support for professional growth and competency development
  • A supportive, international environment

If you’re ready to make a real impact and help our teams deliver high‑quality software with confidence, we’d be happy to hear from you.
